This free printable worksheet mixes all three decimal rounding targets - nearest whole number, nearest tenth, and nearest hundredth - so 5th and 6th graders must read each instruction and locate the right place value before rounding. Values run to three decimal places.

How to Solve Decimals - Concepts

Read the target place first and underline that digit. The digit immediately to its right makes the call: 5 or more rounds up, 4 or less keeps it. For 4.397 to the nearest tenth, the 9 pushes the 3 up to give 4.4. Watch for carries: 2.96 to the nearest tenth becomes 3.
