Rounding: Mixed (Nearest 10, 100, 1000)
Our Rounding: Mixed (Nearest 10, 100, 1000) worksheet challenges 4th and 5th graders to apply rounding rules flexibly across different place values, preparing them for estimation in multi-step word problems and real-world calculations.
How to Solve Rounding
Each problem specifies which place value to round to ??? read the instructions carefully before solving. Identify the digit immediately to the right of the target place value: if it is 0 through 4, round down; if 5 through 9, round up. Replace all digits to the right of the rounding position with zeros. Practicing across multiple place values builds the flexible number sense needed for estimation.
