Privacy

Math Minute has no accounts and doesn't need to know who you are. This is the short list of what it does keep, and where.

Nothing to sign up for

You don't give us a name, an email address, or anything else to use the site. There's no login.

Saved in your browser

A few things live in your own browser so the site can remember you next time:

  • Your Daily Challenge results and streak, the result grid you can copy, and which Class Challenge links you've already played.
  • Your personal bests for each game setup, and whether you turned the sound on.
  • Your Custom Game and Worksheet Generator settings, in a cookie that lasts 90 days. "Restore defaults" on either settings page clears it. If you share a computer, that's the button to press before the next person plays.
  • A session cookie that keeps your current round going. It goes away when you close the browser, and our server forgets it after about half an hour of inactivity.

Saved on our server

  • Daily Challenge: the score and time of every official run, with nothing attached that says who played. That's how the site can tell you that you beat 60% of players.
  • Shared game links: the settings behind the link, and the title the creator typed if they gave it one.
  • Class Challenges: every player's score and time, and a name if the player chose to add one. Whoever created the link can remove any row.
  • If you email us, we keep the email so we can reply.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they use. Google gets your IP address and browser details for that, and sets its own cookies (named _ga) that can last up to two years. We've turned off Google's advertising features, Google Signals and ad personalization, and there are no ads on the site. If you block analytics with a browser extension, nothing on the site breaks.

Server logs

Our web host, and Cloudflare, which sits in front of the site to block attacks, keep the usual request logs: IP address, page requested, browser type. We delete ours after about two weeks. Cloudflare keeps its own under its privacy policy.

Kids

Nobody has to give personal information to use the site, and that's on purpose. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The only places you can type free text are the worksheet title, a game title, and the optional name on a Class Challenge leaderboard, and the teacher or parent who made that link can delete names.
