Square Roots & Cube Roots
This free printable worksheet mixes square roots and cube roots for 8th graders, matching the 8th grade standard that asks students to evaluate both √ and ∛ for small perfect squares and cubes.
How to Solve Pre-Algebra
Read the radical sign carefully first: √ asks for the number that multiplies by itself twice, ∛ for the number used three times. So √64 = 8 because 8 × 8 = 64, but ∛64 = 4 because 4 × 4 × 4 = 64. Knowing the cubes 8, 27, 64, 125, 216, 343, 512, 729, and 1,000 makes every cube root instant.
