Exponents: Mixed Small Bases and Powers

Geared towards 4th graders, the Adding Fractions (Common Denominators) exercise allows students to focus purely on the addition step without the complexity of converting.

How to Solve Exponents

Since the denominators (the bottom numbers) are already the same, the hard part is done! Simply add the numerators (the top numbers) together and write that sum over the original denominator. Always check if your final answer can be simplified.
