This free printable 9 times table worksheet is ideal for 3rd and 4th graders — and the 9s are full of patterns to discover, from the famous finger trick to answers whose digits always add up to 9.

How to Solve Multiplication

Subtract from the 10s: 9 × n is 10 × n minus n, so 9 × 8 is 80 - 8 = 72. Check each answer by adding its digits — they should make 9 (9 × 7 = 63, and 6 + 3 = 9). The finger trick works too: fold down the finger you are multiplying by and read tens and ones on either side.
