Factors of Numbers

These free printable factor worksheets are ideal for 4th graders learning to pull numbers apart. Two question shapes alternate: picking the true factor of a number out of four candidates, and counting how many factors a number has in total.

How to Solve Factors & Multiples

A factor divides into a number with nothing left over. To test a candidate, divide: 24 divided by 6 is exactly 4, so 6 is a factor of 24. To count all the factors, list them in pairs starting from 1 (for 24: 1 and 24, 2 and 12, 3 and 8, 4 and 6) and stop when the pairs meet in the middle.
