Solving Proportions

These worksheets help 6th and 7th graders practice solving proportions by finding missing values in ratio relationships. They're ideal for building fluency with proportional reasoning.

How to Solve Ratios & Proportions

Find the scale factor by determining how the known parts of the proportion changed. In 3:4 = x:12, since 4 became 12 (multiply by 3), apply that same factor to 3 to get x = 9. Cross-multiplication also works: solve 3 × 12 = 4x to find x = 9.
